Attanagalla Raja Maha Viharaya

Attanagalla Rajamaha Viharaya is one of the most important ancient royal temples in Sri Lanka. It is the primary one among its nine subordinate temples and is situated in Gampaha Distruct(Western Province), 28 miles northeast from Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka. It is unique because it is the only ancient temple historically recognized as the place where a Bodhisattva (a future Buddha) fulfilled his Dana Paramita (one of the ten perfections to be completed by a Bodhisattva to become a Buddha, an Awakened One). He sacrificed his life by giving his head in gratitude for a favor he received from a poor and ordinary countryman.

Henerathgoda Botanical Garden

Henarathgoda Botanical garden is situated in close proximity to Gampaha Municipality opened in 1876. The Garden is located around thirty kilometers north-west of Colombo, near Gampaha off Colombo - Kandy road.
The variety of trees in this botanical garden is simply mindbogglind and some of the trees are from far away places like Brazil. Every tropical tree has been represented, or rather trees are there from every corner of the tropical world. It is really something to see a tree from as far away place as Brazil, specially if the tree is something so unusual as the Para rubber tree. The scientific name for this tree is hevea brasiliensis. The garden is open every day but most beautiful during the monsoons as most of the trees are at their green best. In this context it is to be mentioned that in Sri Lanka there are rains at least twice a year, the long wet season helps the gardens to maintain the year round verdure.

Katunayake International Airport

Also known as Katunayake International Airport (IATA: CMB, ICAO: VCBI) is Sri Lanka's only international airport. It is located in Katunayake, 35 km (22 mi) north of Colombo. It is administered by Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Ltd. It is the hub of SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka. The airport is undergoing resurfacing of its runway. Future projects currently in discussion are: A second runway to support the Airbus A380, the largest commercial airliner in the world, a further eight passenger gates, a domestic terminal, a 5-storey car-park and etc...

Kelaniya Raja maha viharaya

Situated about  six miles from Colombo, set within a sacred area of around ten acres, the Kelani Vihara stands beside the Kelani river as evidence of a Buddhist tradition in this country.
The spot on which this vihara stands derived its sanctity in the Buddhist era 2531, with the third visit of the Buddha to this country. He hallowed this ground by His visit accompanied by 500 Arahants. The fact that the Buddha visited the spot on a Wesak day on the invitation of King Maniakkhika is given in the historic epics of Sri Lanka.
